Home Security: What You Can Do
I attended the Vancouver Real Estate Tech Meetup Group tonight and was fortunate to hear a presentation on home security by Michael Jagger, president of Provident Security. There are a couple of items I would like to point out now and I would encourage you to contact Michael for more information. The first is that you will never be able to make it impossible for someone to burglarize your home, but you can certainly slow someone down. Re-inforced door frames, laminated glass and double-sided deadbolts are just a few of the ideas you can implement. The second item is to give attention to the master bedroom, which is the first room a burglar will target. Put a deadbolt on the door and do not keep valuables in the dresser or end table drawers. Instead, put them in a safe that is bolted to the floor. So there you have it...a few things you can do to protect what's yours.
